There has been talk that it is already in the works, however, I feel that this site is the best place to come to for your Katharine info. None better, thanks to the host(Chad), and all of the wonderful participating members. |

I know her mom has one. It's probably hard for her to do a lot of stuff since she's on tour and working on her album. We have to be patient, but sometimes it's hard.  |

^I've lobbied for the idea behind this being the official site. I did that when I first arrived--even though there was some resistance to that because of the inevitable icky 'corporate' type of feeling you get with record label officiality. But at least we're in the fortunate situation now of having a level of official unofficial officiality.  To me, having Kat involved here gives more of a sense of officiality than any corporation saying so on paper. Without wanting to dissect the future too much, I've unfortunately seen other indie fansites that had personal contact with the star it celebrated get clobbered by corporate suits. That scenario usually happens when an indie site is more popular than the label site that starts up not longer after. And, now we have word that Kat's true 'official' site may be going up this summer. There's supposed to be a board there too. Already, the 'AI' suits are probably writhing in jealousy over this place getting national attention and Kat choosing to communicate with everybody here. It makes me worry a bit when the true official site goes up. Now, they can't legally shut this place down. But they can intimidate in ways I won't even infer. I think most of you astute to this type of situation know what I mean. The written word from lawyers in your mailbox can be quite powerful. All I can say is that I hope Chad won't ever capitulate to any outside influence. Because I know this place will probably be tested by these forces eventually--just based on Kat's involvement here and the national press for it. This place is just too good and really deserves to be the official site...on paper too. A joint partnership with the true official site would be suspect...even though we know all mergers don't always go well.  |

this site has been my home for me for the past few months. now, the corporate suits can go and open their own official site for financial gains or purposes. but i dont think i can actually go to another site and be as comfortable as i am rite now communicating with fellow McPhans. besides how can you have a Katharine McPhee official site without Vadia, Gregoriancant, dragondawg, Mutt, and the others? ;) |

There are 3 things that make a site (forum) successful:
1. The Sources - where you get your information
2. The Policies - maintaining the site in order while keeping everyone happy and respectful
3. The Members - quality members with thoughtful topics instead of immature discussions
It looks like KMF is the only one (as far as Katharine McPhee site) that has all of the above. |

Hopefully this site can stay as it is without any legal problems developing in the future. It's the only place we can get accurate information and feel comfortable discussing so many things related to Kat. Kat's communication to her fans through Chad is very special to all of us! |

It wasn't Carrie's fault, a real estate agent already had CarrieUnderwood.com. If you look at who bought KatharineMcPhee.com, it is a London company, possibly 19. It was registered on December 9, so it was definitely someone at the auditions.

Thank you for the info!! But I thought that domain names could be bought out, I guess though that unless it's something pretty small or random, the current owners would have to be paid quite a lot to just give the site up... Thanks again, though  |

There have been some legal battles stars have won when they have been awarded domains with their name. But if a realtor has the name Carrie Underwood and has that domain name, I don't think there's anything Carrie can do. |
