Season 5 will be featured this fall. With lots of our darling Kat. Hopefully she will partake in the "let's look back" interviews. Not everyone does. Here is an update from Mandisa's blog on myspace talking about her interviews.

"Well I had a good, but busy day today! Have you ever heard of the show "American Idol Rewind"? It basically is a re-airing of American Idol but with exclusive interviews from the contestants about what was happening behind the scenes. It is syndicated so comes on lots of different stations: Fox, CW, TV Guide Channel, etc. Well they are currently airing season 4 and just began filming season 5. Today I went down to a local hotel here in Nashville to film my interviews. It was emotional reliving all of that again. It's been 3 years and A LOT has happened since, but I found myself feeling all of those same emotions all over again! And guess who I ran into? Kellie Pickler! I haven't seen her in so long. She's currently on tour with Taylor Swift. Check her out...if you can find tickets (they are selling fast)! Anyways, AI Rewind Season 5 will air in September."

Thanks for the info,Barlo! I've been intermittantly following re-wind and wondering when season 5 would be featured.

I don't get how they sequence the Rewind programs...sometimes they air the actual competition first and then revert back to that season's auditions.They've been doing this with season 4 and today,went back to season 3(?)They even had an entire show devoted to Carrie and her season 4 experience.

It is fun to see the contestants as they look today and hear their commentary re: how the contest affected them personally.Would love to hear Kat's comments....I'm sure she'll add some humor and charm to the program!!

Like any series that starts in the fall, they sprinkle in repeats around Christmas and then in the summer. So they started out in order with Season 3 auditions. This the first, and I hope last, year they've combined two Seasons. They really gave S3 short shrift. After spending weeks and weeks on auditions, then they went from 12 to 6 and 6 to winner in two shows! I want to see a full viewing of S5, with lots and lots of Kat, of course. She will add a lot to the show, just like she did they first time. Only now she won't be nervous or under pressure of any kind.

I hope I can find this on the TVG Channel because I lost the Fox Reality Channel this year, which was where I saw some of these the first time around. I finally got to see some early episodes I missed during the real Season Five. I hope somebody caps the Katharine stuff because it's easier to look it up on Youtube than to try to catch the right night on tv. I can't believe there have been 3 Idol seasons since THE Idol season. Amazing. We've been doing this for 3 years? We must be nuts.

I hope I can find this on the TVG Channel because I lost the Fox Reality Channel this year, which was where I saw some of these the first time around. I finally got to see some early episodes I missed during the real Season Five. I hope somebody caps the Katharine stuff because it's easier to look it up on Youtube than to try to catch the right night on tv. I can't believe there have been 3 Idol seasons since THE Idol season. Not to worry,Groucho!Rewind is aired on several different channels.....check your local line-up or TVGuide to discover which ones are in your area.

My DVR has the first episode of Season 5 AI Rewind scheduled for Sunday 9/27 with auditions in Chicago. It usually airs on Saturday here, so I don't know what's happening. But as long as my DVR can find it, I'm happy. Groucho, it tends to be on a really local station, not a cable station.

It would be great if someone could cap it. I have the original Season 5 on dvd without commercials and I'd love to have the Rewind version, too. Any entrepreneurs out there?

Just a note to let everyone know David Foster and friends from last year is on PBS of the Carolinas.
They said its been one of most popular shows in PBS history.
