We don't seem to be getting anything remotely resembling hints as to what kind of music is actually being produced this time around. But then she was purposely mysterious last time around as well. Of course she didn't get to pick the cuts that actually made the album, so maybe she was in the dark as well. I'm just trying to keep a lid on and wait and see.

The only time I think we've seen her singing totally new music, and not something that had some obvious other purpose (like being a commercial for JAL), was the song on CSI: NY. And she has pointedly not answered people who e-mailed and asked if it was going to be on the album, which might or might not mean a thing. But I wouldn't mind it, although I think most people would also like to see some mid- or up=tempo stuff as well, as long as they're not overproduced dance tracks. I don't think that's what most of us are looking for from her, although I know there are those who wish she'd just pull out all the stops and go for total poptartness. But I can't see that. I don't think that's the hallmark of most Verve artists.

I think I just took two paragraphs to say I haven't a clue what she's working on. Oh well.

Another Myspace update.

Kat moved around her MySpace top friends.. Michael Jackson is #1 now ... and John Mayer has appeared.

MJ is understandable but the JM thing could be more than just a courtesy! THAT could mean something! Duet perhaps? There was some speculation that he was at her recording sessions about a month ago. Could they have recorded something?
