Well, it seems nasty wasn't working for them last year, so they try zany...

I really don't care about the judges though, I want to see the performers. But I have a suspicion that they're not showing the best, or at least not all of the best. Many of the featured audition round contestants were cut in Hollywood - according to the spoilers - so that means they're holding back on us. Why? Well maybe they don't want the audience deciding on who should be finalists soley from watching the audition round. I guess that would put them all on a more even footing once the voting starts, rather than having front runners and favorites so early in the game.

 

I think they've been guilty in the past of "annointing" certain contestants during the auditions/Hollywood phase and it winds up being unfair to them down the road because people feel like the powers that be are forcing certain people down your throat.  They did that in some degree last year with Michael & Carly and I think it hurt them.  On the other hand, David Cook came out of nowhere and surprised everyone so he seemed fresh.

 

Nobody is crying about Bikini Girl's departure and the other diva,Tatiana is also quite annoying and a total drama queen!It is sad that these 2 contestants have some talent...but their self-centered behavior gets in the way.
We'll soon be seeing the exceptional singers in Hollywood and I always think of Kat having had to go through the stress of this process.Someone has just put up a retrospective of Kat's vintage AI performances on youtube.They remain classics!!

I think about the same thing.  We didn't really see that much of Katharine in Hollywood.  Little snippets here and there and a quick interview with Ryan (when she was putting positive thoughts out into the universe!).  That was pretty much it.  Oh yeah, I remember we did get a judges response to her and they mentioned, or maybe that was what they said when she found out she made it in the Top 24...I don't remember!

All I remember she was in the clip of people messing up the words to "Sugarpie, Honeybunch" (That's not the right name, I know), a small snippet of My Funny Valentine and I'll Never Love This Way Again (the other contestants cheer for her pretty loudly for her during that part).
 

I could edit that last one but...about Bikini Girl, etc, etc.  I was afraid they were going to keep her around at least until the end of Hollywood week just for dramatic purposes.  She's not a bad singer really but her attitude is awful.  I guess we have a clue on how hard Idol really is because we've heard the stories from Katharine and others but...if you are too tired during Hollywood week...please, you aren't going to survive the rest of the show.

I do have a few people I like at this point but I agree with the thought that they are holding back on us this year with some of the better talent.  Maybe that's because they've stretched Hollywood week out over 4 hours instead of 2 like last year.  We might see the better ones this week since well we're down to 75 instead of 147.
