Thanks,Groucho! Looks like that pic was taken yesterday@ The Grove.....where Kat had sung The Christmas Song. Kat looks great!One of her friends was in the show.....

I never could see Kat as Elphie BTW. Hiding that gorgeous complexion behind all that green makeup would be a sin! Plus whenever you take on a famous Broadway role you are automatically compared to the role originator, in this case Idina Menzel. Not that Kat couldn't blow the doors off, but Idina has a large and strong fanbase which would be very hard to win over. No, it would be much better if Kat's first appearance in a musical role be one that she originates and others must emulate.

Still, she's best known for a performance that built on several very strong past versions (Jane Monheit, Eva Cassidy, etc.) and today some people think her performance is the definitive one. I know, there are Garland fans that will fight to the death, but I'll bet most people under 25, if asked who they associated Over The Rainbow with, would say Katharine. Maybe that's apples and oranges...
