Thank you so much for taking the time to write this letter and putting all those stupid rumors to rest. So many people in the entertainment business could learn a lot from you and the way you are so gracious and wonderful with your fans. You're the best!!!

I will continue praying for your full recovery in the near future.  Selfishly though I'm hoping against hope that you will get bumped up a date by your doctor and be able to perform in Cleveland on July 19th since that is the concert I will be attending. First and foremost though I just want you to get better so we can all hear that beautful voice of yours once again.

Thank you so very much for your thoughtful note! While it's a shame you had to miss the beginning of the tour, we know that it was beyond your control. Your true fans just want you to take care of yourself and recover 100% before rejoining the other Idols for the remainder of the tour. If you make it back by the 22nd for the Philly show, I'll be there cheering for you!

That all said, I am also saddened that you found it necessary to explain yourself to us. In any relationship trust is paramount, and that holds true in our relationship too. Although we like to know everything you're planning and doing, we know that this is not always possible. We also know that there will always be rumours and mis-information by the uncaring, unscrupulous, and malicious people on the net and in the media. So we will just trust that you and your management are doing the best for your career and your fans.  No explanations needed!

I'm hoping the same thing.  It will be soooo great seeing her co-host the entire show, and Kat's just spitfire enough to hold her own in that chat-fest.  Hopefully, her not coming back to the concert until the 21st, won't affect her appearance on the View.  But I'm sure she'll be talking and warming her voice back up at least a couple of days before she goes back to singing, so my fingers are crossed.

Thanks for the letter! Although I am just heart sick that you will not make the Cleveland, Ohio show I understand why you can not. Well I am wearing my "Orange" anyway in honor of you, and believe me I am an Irish Cath. who loves "Green" so you know I gotta love ya to do this. I just really wanted to see this amazing young lady that captured my heart.

My kids (your age) just refer to you as "mom's girl", and both of them said to me and sincerely I might add, "we're sorry mom about not getting to see her". They are Sweethearts too, just like you!

Kat, my angel, I never doubted you. I know you would have been there if you could. These things aren't planned, they just happen. Life happens. It's full of setbacks and pitfalls. It's good that Kat did this and cleared things up. but for myself, i didnt need KAt to clear anything for me. i have total faith that Kat has a good reason for doing everything that she does and that she'll make the right decisions

I’m sorry you had to play rumor control too. As someone who is familiar with the media (the LEGITIMATE kind) I know all too well how all this flim-flam creates so much flack. (We writers LOVE alliteration!) Frustrating, isn’t it? Please do remember, though, that at the center of any consternation is the utmost of concern for you. We love you “sooooo” much too.

Awww she is so sweet for doing this it's amazing how lucky we are to have her! I can't believe I didn't see this letter sooner! It's sad that she thinks we believe all the rumors she has to know that we believe in her and we know she wouldn't be that selfIsh or anything! First of all, thanks a million, billion, trillion, gazillion, zillion, bajillion, squillion, jillion, kajillion for spending so much time for us your fans. hehe. Truly, you are the first celebrity or music icon i have followed that has graciously been giving so much to the fans. We do not know you one bit, but because of these little things that you do, *well in fact, they're not little to us.. its a big deal to the fan.. teehee* it most certainly makes us feel closer to you and even have this feeling that we at least know you one bit.

even if i am very much euphoric and ecstatic and super glad, that we heard from you again, i do feel a little bad that you had to defend yourself with regards to the rumors. rumors will be rumors and its disappointing how far the people will go to bring someone down just for money. Some do it not for money, but some do it for the mere purpose of entertainment or for the purpose of having something to talk about. It's silly, ridiculous, shallow, immature, absurd and downright rude. as a fan, i always feel the need to be defensive but then again, there's this other part of me that wants them to be left alone and not let myself stoop down to their level.

Having said these things, thank you so much kat for this. I truly believe in my heart that you did this out of the goodness of your heart and out of your love for the fans. No matter what others might say against you, i just cannot find reason to believe them. May God reward you for your goodness and sustain you for the hard work you are doing. Get well soon! Well, where in the world have i been? Didn't even know about being able to be on here and writing these messages. I'm finally cluing in. You know, I'm a true music lover; have been for a long time now...I work as a school counselor and I've been sitting here reading your words Kat. Gotta tell ya, I'm not an easy one to make into a fanatic but I think I've arrived. So much too of your answers to the 11 questions were so "on track". Listen here kiddo, you do what you need to do to take care of that God given voice. He gives you one and personally I'd rather you take off a bit so we can all enjoy it a long time from now. i completely agree, Mutt808. i have been bothered by the posts i read on another thread asking kat to explain the rumor. i thought this was a safe haven for kat. as such, she shouldn't have to explain herself to us when a story comes out of a tabloid. she already explained before that she loves performing and looking forward to seeing her fans on the AI tour. so even if every tabloid shows proof that that is not the case, we simply believe what she has already told us.

KAT, i believed you before, i believe you now, and i will always believe you no matter what. keep on doing what you're doing. forget about the negative comments said about you. YOU ARE LOVED. that's the most important thing. i am praying for you always, for your health, your career, and your happiness.

I'm such an idiot   I was reading the start of your post and thought, "Hey, I said something like that too..."  Then I read further and realized you were quoting me.  LMAO!  Ahhhhh, you just gotta laugh at yourself when you're a huge dork.

But thank you, Garet, and also BigShady for showing me I'm not the only one who feels this way.  I know there are a bunch of others too, but I can't remember the specific names.

Kat and Peisha both were lovely enough to send us personal messages, yet there were some people doubting what was happening.  There is no point in reacting to something when there is no confirmation that it's the truth.  Just wait it out and the truth will surface.

I have great confidence that Katharine will make sound decisions for herself.  I also have great confidence that those decisions include us because she has made it abundantly clear that her fans are a huge, huge part of her now. 

That being said, I do feel very bad for those of you who have tickets for the shows that Kat is missing.  I can understand how disappointed you all are.  But I have seen how mature most of you have been about it, and that deserves a huge thumbs up.

Let's not forget the ultimate power of writing out thoughts and feelings on a computer--and being able to move your lips to what you're writing.  Especially when defending yourself in an online argument...it can be more fulfilling than actual talking. And talking is overrated anyway...except when you're asking for a glass of water from someone when you're sick.

First off, thanks to Katharine for her smart letter in tearing down the current process of rag reporters like (Mr. Snark) Ted Casablanca who managed to get his half-truth story into the mainstream press. It's become a scary process now of rag-like stories becoming perceived truth so easily. It's that old process (if you've studied Marketing) of Memetics taken to the dark side.  Memetics used to be a positive process for starting a domino effect of a good idea into everybody's lives. Now it seems to be used to bring people down more than ever lately.

I forward Steve's (Mutt's) thoughts on all of us being responsible in filtering what's right and wrong in a media story. In a post the other day, I pointed out that people really need to learn how to do some deductive reasoning when it comes to determining truth from fiction. Another member mentioned that it's really a 'perception as reality' problem. And that's very true--even though people have to resist that notion and realize that perception isn't reality. Maybe we're just living in an age now when emotion rules most people's actions. But, it can be overcome with just a little understanding. Deduction skills CAN be taught. Sometimes it can just be a natural process too. Fortunately, I've been able to master that for most things--though not always perfect. We all have to keep that sensibility and put two and two together when seeing a dubious story out there.

It's wise of Kat to at least get out and do some things. She has to keep working after all--or her mind and body would deteriorate lying in bed for weeks. Whether that rumour of her being in Albany, NY tonight was true or not--no one seems to know.  The stress of flying to the east coast could be a bit of a risk. Nevertheless, keeping going is important. And if she does 'The View' next week in NYC--the gals on there might give her a break in talking more knowing that Kat's voice isn't in the best shape right now.

To Kat: Please stay well and know that we'll keep supporting you in every endeavour you do. Watching movies late at night sounds like the typical scenario of being sick...even though Katharinefans.com has a pretty good late-night show to read on most nights.

You already had 6 pages and 117 replies of appreciation and thanking notes to your message. There's nothing much I can say that has not been mentioned. So I won't repeat.

One thing I would like to add is that I'm truly amazed at the maturity level of your thinking which is so apparently displayed on this message and the 11 questions and answers. To be honest, I don't find many 22 year old, be it boys or girls, that have such a well thought and organized reasoning in their mind. Saying you are multi-talented is really an understatement. I have reread and reread this message and every time I am stunned at how you presented each point and arranged them in such an orderly manner. Every one of your sentences is written with authority but you have put it in such a way that it is presented without being disrespectful. This kind of writing is hard to find among today's teenagers. I admit when I was at your age, I could barely write a legitimate paragraph, let alone a well thought and authoritative message. I know that we have quite a few professional writers here in KMF, and you are, in my opinion, one of them. At such a young age, you've already accomplished so much. I can't really fathom how successful you can be in 10 to 15 years.

Kat, I've said it before but I'm repeating again. To me, it seems like God had gethered all strengths of every individual and put them together in making you. Is it fair? I can't answer, but you are THAT special.

I wish Katharine a safe and speedy recovery! I am also happy I won't see the AI concert until September and hopefully Ms. McPhee will be all rested and will add much-needed beauty, class & style to the tour!
