And kinda an, umm, interesting conversation about the gay community at the end.

As usual Kat gave good performances of "Love Story" and "Mary Jane".  While the crowd was a bit noisy like all political rallies are, they seemed to enjoy her.  I wonder how  "SOTR" or "Ordinary World" would have played?
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

They'd probably have talked through them too. What the hell did that mean, what's her day job? She was in introduced clearly enough, so that had to have been just plain nastiness. Maybe my Snarkmeter is turned up too high these days, but it seems like Katharine is just catching hell from everybody lately. What's going on?

Geez, this video and the pictures taken from the front are turning into one of those dual perspective scenarios where you see one thing and then another...depending on the vantage point. In my mind, though, smiles on the faces of people don't lie in still photography. Most of the people in the crowd by the foot of the stage were obviously loving Kat's performance. And when the guys wearing shades look embarrassed when having to stare directly into Kat's shaking ba-donk-a-donk (remember that term?)--then you know she's grabbed the audience's attention.

That Washington Post article saying Kat' s performance was akin to a second-rate club performance was just pathetic and not really all that astute to reality. But when you're at a political rally, people are there to generally cheer, talk and make noise of any variety. They aren't about to be stone-cold quiet during a performance. In my opinion, they should have been during Kat's forever great 'Mary Jane.' I noticed some down in the very front staring up at her as if hypnotized while she sang that. You have to look off in the distance to see it, however.

Well, if Kat's mic was as low as it sounded on the video--then no wonder people weren't paying attention. I wonder if the sound system was turned down a tad to avoid breaking sound ordinance laws that are probably strict in D.C.? After all, having a thumping bass heard all the way to Capitol Hill is probably something that will never happen...if most elected Senators and Reps are in their 60's and 70's.  Kat, though, needs a sound system that can project her way out there. It appears here that she only gets out powerfully to about the halfway point. Then, where the camera people are...they'd rather talk about some bizarro stuff that sounded a bit questionable.

I know the liberal cause is to talk openly about gay issues. But you'd think they could have refrained from making the "going straight for Kat" line while taping the performance. That just makes you wince while watching the vid and feeling like you want to yell "shut up!" to the people nearby...

D.C.: Not Kat's best day there--despite kicking off the Idol tour triumphantly there last summer...

What was that about projecting her voice? I thought that was what microphones and sound systems were for. And I wasn't sure who was doing all the loud commenting. We just seem to get a lot of that in videos. What's so bizarre about her having a big gay following?

Yes Groucho, I was wondering the same?   She's done nothing wrong!

I don't understand how people sometimes don't appreciate talent like this.

Omg that was awesome. She sounded great and I loved what she was wearing!

My favorite part was the end when all you could really hear was the ladies who recorded it and they said something about "Gay guys love her." and one lady was like "Gay guys"? And then something about "They'd go straight for her" LMAO. Us gays love her 'cause she's FABULOUS lol. Her hair is always fierce and her voice makes our knees buckle. I don't think I'd "go straight" for her though lol.
