Alright!  Good for E! News Daily in supporting our opinion that the staff of Hot 99.5 was out of line during their "ambush interview" with Kat!

The reporter, Catt Sadler ended this rather stinky interview with, "OK, why do I feel uncomfortable"   Yeah, you're darn right, Catt. 

Well, I guess Kat has faced these situations early on like prior to joining the Idol tour, so though one never likes this sort of treatment, this unfortunately goes with the territory called "celebrity"; this could get rough-er...

I don't mind if someone has a conflicting opinion about something, like they were a fan of another Idol, or they just don't care for something about Katharine and aren't a fan. I may find it odd, but they certainly have a right to an opinion. It's this business of just making up stuff or twisting the truth until it yells that pi$$es me off.

This is the kind of stuff which celebs like Tom Cruise has had to fight against in court!   And It's good that we fans continue to fight for Kat....hey where is the Katfia, da Don!

This whole incident has caused quite a rumble in the Katharine community. It is a simple case of a Howard Stern wannabe DJ blindsiding an unsuspecting performer and then trying to make a name for himself by using the negative responses to stir up trouble.

As many of you may know, the story had surfaced on TMJ (most likely by his sending it to them) a fact which the DJ, Kane, proudly boasted of yesterday.  This story was also featured on E! News Daily last night.  Unfortunately for him, E! did not take his side in the argument, and instead focused on the mistreatment that Katharine had received. At the end, the host even said, "Now why do I feel uncomfortable?" It was very sympathetic to Katharine.  On his morning show today, he tried to make light of the E! program and spin it.

In addition, he reportedly said that he was going to play "Love Story" on the air this morning. As far as I know, he did not. Probably just as well, since there's a good probability that callers would have been in place to say how much they disliked the song.

Any response at this point from Katharine's fans needs to be carefully thought out before submitting. If you wish to respond via email to the program manager or the general management of the radio station, remember to please be respectful. Let them know you did not appreciate the way the DJ and his 'intern' handled the interview, but keep it clean. I would suggest not responding at all to this character Kane - he is doing everything he can now to save face, including monitoring fan sites to see what is being said about him. He will twist anything he can to put himself in a better light. He also must approve any comments left on his blog, so don't count on being able to post something there that is supportive of Katharine or critical of him.

Here are some numbers of stations in the DC area that I regularly request to play Katharine's music. If you want to support Katharine in this, request, request, request  "Love Story". The best way to deal with someone like Kane is to let him know that he is irrelevant to the issue at hand, which is to get Katharine's music played.

If  "Love Story" makes a big impact on the charts, Kane will have two choices...play the song or look like a complete dolt for not doing so. Let's make it the former.

BTW... I sent an e-mail to Kane. I first sent one with "Katharine McPhee" as the subject and it was not sent and came up as some kind of error. I re-wrote and sent the next one with the subject "apologies" and low and behold, it went through...interesting. Anyway, it is time for this to go away now because there is no value in getting into the mud with those who already had a dislike of Kat (as heard in the latest podcast). I probably shouldn't have sent an e-mail but I was kind and mature and I guess I'm a bit of a peace-maker...oh well...

Here's the e-mail I sent:

Hi Kane,

I sent an e-mail regarding the Kat interview and I do live in California. My apologies for jumping the gun and thank GOD I didn't drop the F bomb!!

I am not a part of some vast blogosphere plan to have you banned from planet earth and haven't heard of one and long may you live on Hot99.5  Freedom of speech is a gift to you and, I might add, a gift to me too.

One thing before I sign off. I just listened to your latest podcast overview of the "uncomfortable" Kat interview where you referred to me and all other fans of Kat as "crazy nutbags with no lives" and a bit later you stated that "we're not judging"  Yes, you are judging (an entire group of thousands of Katharine's fans in one fell swoop) and yes, we're all human and we make mistakes but speaking for myself, I'm not a crazy nutbag, I'm a single mom of 3 teenage boys, I work full time, trust me...I have a life and additionally, I am a fan of Katharines too.

You speak of honesty and how you are honest so I challenge you to come clean to your audience about saying you don't judge when obviously you do...we all do actually.

I wish you the best for your future.

Hmmmm... thanks for the heads-up, a3boymom.  In my opinion, this guy is a snake who obviously has trouble telling right from wrong.  His "crew" isn't any better, if all the snickering & laughter in the background is any indication.  Sounds like it's all mud-slinging to them, (and like pigs, they LIKE rolling around in their own mud & filth!), and if they can't find any mud to sling, then by all means, they'll twist the truth inside-out & "make some mud up", because the only thing that matters to them is to "get noticed".  Or, as he puts it, "get promo'd", on some National show.  (Just like an insecure 4th Grader going, "Look at ME!  Look at ME!!")

Right now, I'm thinking that you & the rest out here who are saying that the best option is to just stop pursuing the issue with him are right.  (for now...    )  The only thing that I'm hoping for right now is that someday, in some way, "someone" gives him a taste of his own medicine & treats him the same way that he has been treating others.  The old "Golden Rule" being put into effect, if you get my meaning!  It would totally serve him right if all this "Bad Karma" that he's spewing out comes back to haunt him someday, and he just ends up hurting himself with his own words & nasty attitude!! 

 

Oh well, that having been said, I guess that now I'm.... "OVER IT"!       LOL!!!!

I've never seen it not be true and I take great satisfaction in that! This guy is just plain spiteful, and instead of owning up to what a blunder his intern made he's just adding to the insult. He'll be sorry for it someday for sure.

Looking at the positive here,Katharine handled herself with grace and patiently stayed on the phone without losing her temper! Did see the E!Daily 10 today, and as they played the radio snippets,they must have shown at least 20 beautiful stills of Kat.So this fiasco of an interview garnered both some promotinal airtime, and empathy for Kat.Nena and Kat had better watch out; it's a dog eat dog world out there!

I'm not writing any letters to anyone at this point, nasty or otherwise. I wouldn't dare. But to me, it all seems to boil down to this.

1) They promised her no personal questions, so saying later that if you can't stand the heat you should stay out of the kitchen just doesn't make sense, because what part of the word "promise" don't they understand? i.e. when you're in show biz you're fair game for anything and anybody.

2) If they should be ticked off at anyone, why Katharine? She doesn't make her own schedule and no doubt does what her "people" tell her to do. She was just handy and easy to get at. What does that make them look like? He complained that she dodged the question of where she was because she was supposed to be phoning from her car and probably wasn't, but to me, "where are you?" could just as well mean "Why aren't you in the studio?" as "What's your exact location?" She was just trying to explain the situation.

3) They seem to have sent poor Ally off armed with just the wrong questions and didn't let her in on the joke in advance, so she got had too. Real mature of them. She's an 18 year old kid on her first job. Great way to introduce her to the world of broadcasting. So they got two people at once.

To me, that makes him a real duckhead. Did I spell that right?

Wow, I'm really happy that E! took our side! That new podcast tho, I can't believe how anyone could be that cruel. It really hits home...being in high school and that's what girls my age act like, but I really wouldn't expect that from adults. It's really sad. Hopefully this will just blow over soon. This really bothers me...

As glad as I am that there is spme postive (from our point of view) spin on this story, I wish it hadn't gone national at all.

I didn't have the patient to listen to all of the podcast. Bleck!

I was willing to give Kane a little bit of the benefit of the doubt at first (maybe Kat's team did prefer another station, etc.). But he was rude (is there a stronger word?) in his emails and this podcast just showcases how much he dislikes US as well as Kat. How can you not like me? You don't even KNOW me! lol

I'm VERY GLAD that Kat has not responded to any of this. It's best that she stay above the fray. It will also blow over sooner.
