Thanks to the industrious kat_pack15, who posted this at IDF. She's going to sing for us, and it's just...well... as another descendant of Irish/Scottish/German (and then some) immigrants, this sorta got to me. Someone observed that she seems to be singing a "lullaby to America." Get yer kleenexes out and don't say I didn't warn you.
http://weareellisisland.org/stories/view/36 Katharine McPhee RCA Recording Artist and Actress Sounds Like Family Descended from Irish, Scottish and German immigrants, I honor America's connection to people from all over the world. I see myself as part of a larger global family and believe in the importance of its shared history. Thanks to the hard work of many before me, my dreams are becoming reality. With every song I sing, I share another piece of myself with my growing, extended family. I proudly support Save Ellis Island and preserving the birthplace of so many great American stories.
I got so sick of having my computer tell me I couldn't see this or that file because the necessary Quicktime components weren't available that I finally tracked it down on line and downloaded the latest version. et voila!
that picture they're using is certainly more reminiscent of "America's Sweetheart" than Miss "We're not in Kansas anymore," isn't it?

If you'd like a nice big version of that ad, here it is.
There are two commercial ads for TV and cinema. One features Kat singing "This Land is Your Land" at the beginning.
This is all old news isn't it?
The "best" video (the one with the most Katharine singing in it) is to be found by clicking the Kathairne McPhee link over on the right under "Most popular stories" which takes you to this page where you can then click the link to see the good video. It has a lot more singing than the commecial ones. Probably the same one that diff posted.
The link above are the actual commercials that will be shown on TV and cinema (movies) nationwide.
You are correct the best video of Kat is on the website under Stories.

IVTC version. no wait gotta come up with a less technical term like CRB suggested....
"Restored film" version. How's that?
Thanks Diff, that is better than the mov, though kudos to the Ellis Island campaign for posting such high quality videos on their website.
Ok, so who has the version of just Katharine singing the whole song without the voiceover???
It was a pleasant surprise for
