I'ts CKP here, or WCB (West Coast Britt)...I couldn't let you guys down, so of course I got tons of footage of Kat at the Mother Goose Parade! I was there covering the event for the TV station I intern for, and I have my own 1 hour show called "The Red Carpet Spectacular," a show covering the Red Carpet at the Mother Goose Parade.
Here's a review of my experience at the Red Carpet:
So I found out about the Mother Goose Parade and the red carpet event, when I heard that Katharine McPhee was going to be there. I've attended a lot of her concerts and events as a fan, and have taken pictures and video to put on her fansite for her fans to see. She has inspired me to be the best I can be, and have a great career while being classy. So anyways, it was awesome to be able to interview my role model on the red carpet, considering she got me to the point where I am today! It was sooo exciting! I now have my own TV show, a one hour "Red Carpet Spectacular" episode! I'm sure you will all thoroughly enjoy it! Check your local listings to see it on TV, or see me for a DVD copy. Anyways, I interviewed every single celebrity on the red carpet! It was soooo awesome!!!! I had so much fun, and it was an awesome experience! Some of the highlights included being the only live TV reporter that got an interview with Mario Lopez! He was walking really quickly along the red carpet, and did a few interviews with radio stations, and then he was walking off...I quickly called his name, and got him to do a quick interview. It was so exciting, especially because I remember being a little kid watching "Saved by the Bell" all the time! It was also really exciting interviewing Katharine McPhee, because she totally knew who I was, and she was so sweet! She came up to me and she was like "oh my gosh is this your job now!?" And I said "yeahhh"...and we had a great conversation about how she inspired me, and others, and all of the other media people were standing around in awe! It was great! Plus I had a ton of great questions to ask her that were relevant, so it was really exciting! Also, there was some suspense as to wether or not she would walk the red carpet. The lady in charge of all the media relations, said they were concerned with fans pushing the barricades. Which it appeared to me, that the fans were behaving well, but they were all squished and need more room. But I'm glad he security was very high, for the safety of everyone. So then the lady informs us "Katharine McPhee will be walking the red carpet shortly, you are to ask NO personal questions." So therefore we couldn't ask her to confirm her engagement. But anyways, if they are indeed engaged, I'm so happy for them! I saw Nick, and he was so sincere and was just a nice dude, they are very cute together! Anyways, after interviewing Kat, she was the last one on the red carpet, we went over to the concert area where she, Drake Bell, and Monet were performing. The audio was awful, I felt SO bad for them! Drake Bell had to stop in the middle of his performance, to get the sound corrected, because he was getting the wrong feed in his ear. And a similar thing happened with Kat, we could see her struggling with the audio in her ear. However, she performed awesome even with all of the sound difficulties! Also, the camera man with me, was in love with Kat! It was so cute, he was like "Oh my gosh, she came up to me a few times, right to my camera!!! I've heard her song 'Over It' before, but I didn't realize it was her...it's such a hit! She's so sweet and charming!" So it was so funny to see him go nuts for Kat. As she was singing, the camera man with me, was right there at the stage and followed her as she sang to the crowd, as I stood on the side of the stage, just a few feet away. Kat is so personable, she would come up and sing and laugh right to me, because she knew that I knew the sound was funky, so she would look at me like "oh my gosh, can you believe this" and we would laugh. And she knew the camera man with me, from our interview, so she would go over and sing right to our camera. It was great! Drake Bell was great too! His song has been stuck in my head all day!! He played the guitar and fans went nuts for his songs. He walked the red carpet, with his girlfriend I assume, but he didn't do any interviews, he was gone SO quickly! And Monet did a great job with choreographed dance numbers. Anyways, we had a blast, and my Dad and little sis came too, and they were right there with us, and were our extra hands, and would spot the celebrities coming around the corner in the limo. I was so prepared, with pictures all of the celebrities who would be there, with there names and what show they were on. And a few notes about things to ask them. It was funny because my Dad was using my papers, and of the other media people were like "Oh can I see that! Oh that's so cool! Hey, who's coming up next, let me see that!" LOL. So anyways, we had a great time! Check your local listings to see my one hour tv show, or see me to watch a DVD copy.

Thanks, Britt Where did you guys get that Sexy Hair poster?! When did your sister finally grow a second eye?! (Remember how she only had one eye in that picture last year? Obviously I do. Random. Whatever.)
Hey Mutt! A family friend of mine saw a huge Sexy Hair poster of Kat at a hair supply store, and asked if they would give it to him when they were done with it, and they said sure, so he gave it to me. The poster is GIANT too, I will have to post a picture of it in it's full length. He also got a smaller cardboard poster thingy of Kat too. Pretty cool! haha Yep I remember that picture of us where it looked like Heather only had one eye lol! Oh my gosh, every kid wanted to be my sister on Sunday, because she was right there on the red carpet with me, and got to see all the celebrities and take pictures. It was great! It's funny because we found out that some of the stars at the red carpet that day, were heading to LA that evening to go to the Grove in LA for the Christmas taping...that's where I was last year watching Kat perform, and walked over people to give her the phone so everyone could talk to her on the conference call. And now, a year later I'm interviewing her on the red carpet, lol! And it was at the Grove in LA where the picture was taken where it looked like my sister only had one eye, lol.
I wonder what it's like to sign huge posters of yourself...maybe I could change my question in the Kat Q&A to that.
So Katharine what goes through your mind when you are signing your name on a massive Sexy Hair poster?
I don't know about massive posters, but when she was signing pictures of herself at Six Flags NE in May, someone asked her about seeing herself as she signed. When she didn't answer immediately, they supplied an answer of "Or don't you look at them." Kat said she didn't look at them. I imagine she would see even less of herself ina huge poster! Maybe just the mouth or something!
