MJ'sBigblog has a version up to which some seem to think has better audio. I dont have the link right now but I saw it. This may be the version that shows up in the d/l links below.
Everything sounds better than it did on my tv.
AUDIO
--------------------
Edit+: 2nd generation mixes
Cleanish Mix - a little more voice, a little less fireworks, a lot less announcer http://www.zshare.net/audio/1477043363a8d086/ http://www.sendspace.com/file/u4aoh9 Cheery Mix - this is the Cleanish Mix with additional applause at end http://www.zshare.net/audio/14770563e2377512/ http://www.sendspace.com/file/nky5dt
Below is for the historical record. So much for my doubts, 5.1 AC3 from Shady!
Here's a first version of the audio. There MIGHT be other improved versions. I'll report back after we see what Shady gets in his cap. My feed was unusual to say the least. http://www.sendspace.com/file/gjoxty Anyways, Kat's voice was incredible! For the technically inclined My feed had pillar bars on the sides of the widescreen picture, making the picture nothing like true 1080i HD. Translation: I think my local station is on autopilot and the technicians are drunk. This screwup is probably not related to the audio, which was 2 channel AC3. We'll see if a proper 1080i HD, if Shady got that feed, has AC3 with all channels active but I doubt it.
Thanks Groucho and Diff. And for the technically challenged like me, here's the amazing version starring "the beautiful and gifted Katharine McPhee!"

What a treat to celebrate the 4th and have a live dynamic performance by Katharine
Uploaded to SendSpace -- includes the intro and the ending of the show: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jg1s0a Uploaded to youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5lODn8lNfs From IDF courtesy of The King of Norway. Don't know if that's the same Youtube version as above or not since it says video no longer available and this one seems to play fine...
Here is a zshare link as some folks seem to have problems with sendspace: http://www.zshare.net/audio/14728824022cef64/
Big Shady has come through AGAIN! His cable provider gave him a true HD1080i signal so his capture of this Katharine classic is pristine.
These are Big Shady's uploaded links for his cap:
Part 1, 195MB: http://www.sendspace.com/file/blc1df Part 2, 123MB: http://www.sendspace.com/file/a4oluc
Screen shot was messing up the embedded video above so I took it away. HUGE PICTURE!
This file also has a Digital Dolby 5.1 surround soundtrack so you may get an audio update from differentlife before this orgy of McPhee greatness is over.
All I can say is "Wow!" and "Enjoy!"
Links from superior pics boards (likely Videoman's, I didn't borrow them)

Download all four pieces into the same directory and unrar and it will assemble it for you.
Nice!!!
Thanks kindly, Charles and Mark!
LOVED IT!! Thanks so much for posting the links and downloads! It made my 4th to get to hear Katharine!
What a treat for the fans!
I'm using my horizontal scroll bar. Must be a CRB HD screen cap up there^
These second generation mixes wouldn't have been possible without the awesome HD cap from BigShady, the man who never stops coming through!
They are an improvement over the first version I posted.
I tried taking out more of the fireworks using sort of "automatic" techniques. I'll see where manual work gets me...
Big Shady's file, same as the one above, joined and uploaded to MegaUpload for those who can't deal with split files (or have Sendspace 'issues') http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CO3ERM5P
Thanks to Mark, Diff and CRB for enabling everybody to see some details in this performance that people should go back and see. If you don't have HD at home, you're going to be wowed with the Megaupload above. If the panaroma shot of Kat on the pier, the crowd around her, the river and the fireworks in the background don't give you a lump in your throat, then you're either clinically dead or depressed, even though it should have prevented both.
One thing I have to note: Macy's camerawork isn't the best in the world when it comes to showing their fireworks. My local Portland affiliate (KGW) showed the Fort Vancouver fireworks up in Vancouver, WA (an annual event and widely considered the best fireworks show on the west coast) and had exponentially better camera work covering the FV fireworks...all in HD glory. Macy's seemed to have a "nail a camera to the ground" type of production--other than that fantastic panaroma shot I mentioned above.
Then there's those musical arrangements that are quite bombastic and generic in the vein of something played by a staid pops symphony orchestra. But Kat proved her ability to work around obstacles like that--despite probably fighting the urge to put a hipper edge to "StLDfM."
When it comes to 4th of July specials, all musical performances will be safe and bombastic to fit the theme. Fortunately, Kat knows how to effectively capitulate to those demands--where other musical performers may not...hence why they didn't stand out like Kat did.
Yep, KMF lit up like a cherry bomb with lurkers after the performance for good reason. I hope those who criticized the performance realize the hows and whys behind it and watch this detailed 1080 download. It's the details and nuances that matter with this outstanding Kat performance.
^You're all very welcome for the video.
I had a request for an avi conversion, still very HQ, but much smaller file size, so here that is...
