Hollywood Holiday Celebration at The Grove

My local station broadcast with 5.1 audio. I don't have the speakers to confirm this, but that's what the software says! Can someone check? Video is quite sharp. All in all, pretty nice! So enjoy!

The Christmas Song (with 5.1 AC3 audio)
3:56, 174MB
http://s2.quicksharing.com/v/3850250/XmasSong_Grove_2006_60fpsS12.avi.html

MP3 of audio
http://s2.quicksharing.com/v/8301998/XmasSong_Grove_diff.mp3.html

Tree Lighting (with MP3 audio)
5:22, 225MB
http://s4.quicksharing.com/v/1530105/TreeLighting_Grove_2006_60fpsS12.avi.html

Warning: The MP3 audio is much louder than the AC3 audio, so turn the volume down before playing the Tree Lighting.

If you have problems with video stuttering in Windows Media Player, try viewing in Media Player Classic or VLC Player.

Technical notes: SD program on progressive HD channel. For quality reasons, I had to keep the video at 60 frames per second rather than 30fps. All the remaining artifacts, like shimmering of the lights, are in the source capture. Zoom and step thru frame by frame and you'll see the bobbing of small details. Bad deinterlacing by the broadcaster?

It looks good diff and sounds like it is coming out of all five channels, whether those are truly five different channels of discrete audio I can't say for sure.

Looks great, sounds great on my crappy system. This becomes the definitive version for me, I have deleted my umpteen other versions and freed up half a gig of disk space. Thanks!

I am downloading right now and it is telling me it will take 12 hours to download the first file on Quicksharing. Why do they call that quicksharing if it takes 12 hours to download one song?

Took me 45 minutes, not bad considering it's size.

What kind internet connection do you have, dial up?

There was a request at IDF for a HQ streaming version of the broadcast of Katharine singing The Christmas Song at The Grove last year.    I used differentlife's version (60 fps) and converted the AC3 to mp3.

Here is what I did:

1. Extracted the audio as a .wav file.

2. Used Audacity 1.3 to boost the level up relative to the original.

3. Converted the boosted wav file  to a mp3.

4. Finally, I used Virtual Dub Mod to marry the new soundtrack with diff's unmodified video.

I think it turned out well and here is the resulting file at Stage 6:

The Christmas Song performed at The Grove Tree Lighting Spectacular @ Stage 6 (HQ streaming or download)

Thanks to diff for the original cap to work with.

Oh boy oh boy... I didn't know about this forum until this past spring, so this is a new surprise to me! I'm more giddy than a boy on Christmas morning! Kat looks SOOO beautiful and SOOO sexy here... and what a backdrop set... all in all, FANTASTIC!!!

Once again, a million thanks to Diff, CRB, and Kat herself!!!
