But the best thing about these shows is that she's got total freedom to sing whatever she wants.  Other than she probably has to sing Over It at this point but other than that....

And any time we've heard her sing covers (post idol) they've been just perfect for her voice and style, at least they struck me that way. So whoever's picking them seems to have good insight into what she needs. Well if she's doing it herself, I guess that makes sense. I wonder who thought up tucking Maneater into Dangerous? It was perfect. I didn't even catch it the first time around. Then I did a "huh?" and ran it again.

Funny thing about Maneaster (sure)...into Dangerous is the remix of Open Toes we have samples Nelly F's "Promsicuous".  Although considering this songs all come from the same general place (the Timbaland/Danja universe) it probably makes sense to do that.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

Did anyone cap the interview "Big Al" Mack did of Katharine just before she went on stage at San Antonio? I heard it last Monday morning while on the road. It was played on the syndicated Kidd Kraddick In the Morning Show. Al had just introduced Paula DeAnda (mispronounced her name!) when he did the interview and at the end of the interview with Katharine, he called her Paula DeAnda by mistake! Incidently, the cast of the Kidd Kraddick show were somewhat complimentary of Katharine. They played snippets of AI performances, including Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, which they gave her partial credit for the song's success. They said she will really be a major star if she just gets a better song to sing. I guess they don't like Over It that much. I checked their webpage and emailed Al but didn't get anything. If anyone has it I would sure like to get a copy. Thank you in advance.

I found Big Al's interview (and a lot of chatter) but I can't figure out how to link it. It is item 26 on their K-pod on the home page.

This is the first that I've heard of it Katsfan1, but I'll be listening to the live streams of future  host radio stations in the hopes of preventing a repeat of lost media of this type.  Let's hope that it turns up at some point.

Nice find there katsfan1! Kat doing her British accent! Sounds good to me, but what do I know!

The stream was unlistenable to me so here's the rip. (Where'd you go CRB?)

Filename is straight from the server. I only noticed now.

Jeez, I go away for less than an hour and you all two are all over this thing.

Thanks Katsfan1 and differentlife for making this little San Antonio Bonus happen.  I took it over to IDF and started a new thread so no need for anyone else to take it over there.  Nice to Katharine so relaxed and loose before a performance...another benefit of American Idol...Nerves Of Steel.

The resident  Katharine McPhee bloodhound at IDF, katpack 15, found some videos at MySpace and one was another interview from Mixfest.  Here is the streaming link:

And here is a download of the ripped flv:

Katharine dons a sombrero at the end.
