Katharine McPhee Helps Hillary Clinton

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton held an outdoor campaign in Washington DC to rally with supporters last evening (June 6). There to help her election cause was American Idoler Katharine McPhee.

The event, held on a downtown parking lot during rush hour, seemed to be composed of a mostly female crowd. “They clicked in 8,000 people,” Clinton announced. “We are going to make history together for our country.”

Clinton, who leads the Democratic presidential field in early polls, celebrated the opening of “Club 44,” a code phrase for people who support her goal of becoming the 44th president.

“Hillary is such an advocate for women and stuff like that,” Katharine wisely noted. The 2006 finalist from American Idol provided the musical entertainment for the Clinton rally, along with singer-songwriter Kenny “Babyface” Edmond and a gospel choir.

Enjoy the pictures of Katharine attending the Club 44 Elect Hilary event!

We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

^Does this sound sarcastic or what? I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I find this funny. LOL

But seriously, congrats to Kat's team for bringing the McPheever all over the place! This girl is surely going places. Good luck to the bashers...I have a strong feeling they're never gonna win.

This was a very bad decision on Kat's part to participate in this event. It doesn't matter whether she did it for Rudy or Hilary. She can not afford to align herself politically or religiously in any way at this point in her career. It will do way more harm than good and this you can be assured. She is not in a position to alienate anyone (fans) and as soon as politics comes talking, fans will start walking. Her political views and religious views should be kept to herself for now. People who hold strong political views base a lot of their loyalties and decisions on these beliefs.

It just so happens on top of it all, she picked the most polarizing candidate in the race to boot. Conservatives cringe at the thought of her while other Democrats, ones who don't support her, are just about as offended. While I like Kat's voice better than Barbara Streisand, Streisand can moderately get away with screaming her political views but even Barbara has been hurt as well. I know Kat is not screaming her views but just being in a political camp whether it's Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Communist, or Socialist, she is going to alienate one of those groups.

I will do an entire column on this and some other advice she's been given that has done her no good. Watch for it at idolheaded.com

once again, i am so tired that we the public think we should dictate not only to Kat, but all celebs, sports stars, anyone in the entertainment business, etc., that they should not have a voice politically. who the hell are we, some kind of communistic country that says this kind of crap, "shut up and sing", shut up and act", "shut up and play ball"and so on. i'm sorry but if you can't separate the two, than you just aren't mature enough to do so and maybe you need to leave this country and go and live in a country where they do dictate. i am just so tired of it all that you can say an artist will fail if they speak up politically, that is so absolutely not right. politics shouldn't enter into it, again if you can't separate the two, you just don't want to. they vote, they pay taxes,  etc. so why can't they voice an opinion or rally for one side or the other. this country was supposed to be founded on freedom, well what the hell are you trying to do by taking away an entertainers right to speak up politically. i for one can separate the two, always have, it's real easy, try it.

oh and Idolhead, i for one am not interested in that column you'll have written on the subject, not saying you shouldn't write it, i'm just not interested in reading it. ...

PEACE

See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes the silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first it's got to start inside of me.
