Why she made the list: We always knew she could sing, but somewhere between coming up short on American Idol and appearing on The Tyra Banks Show, she got hot. Plus, she has no problem being felt up.
Drawback: She was discovered by one of the most annoying shows on television.

have to look at it through one of those little solar eclipse eye filters.

OMG! There's that smoldering look again that Kat said she learned at the Boston Conservatory. Talk about gorgeous!!!!!!!!

This gives the illusion that Kat's free...and now guys everywhere will be looking her up on the net to see if she's on the market. It's amazing how many people still think she's just single when she's been in a serious relationship for over two years. But then you've probably heard that old saying of "It don't mean a thing if she ain't got that ring." I have to say, though, that Kat and Nick already have the life of a married couple anyway.

In any case, these "Hot" and "Eligible Bachelorettes" lists are great publicity that keeps Kat in the public eye. Thanks, Minnie, for posting those today.

I'm perplexed, though, why Maxim thinks Kat suddenly and magically turned hot in-between her time on Idol and right before appearing on Tyra's show. Are memories that short or is there a blind spot starting to develop in people when an extremely beautiful woman is on TV? Sometimes it takes a mnemonic device of some kind in order to trigger something in the brain so people pay attention. Apparently a McPheel has to take place in order to wake people up to reality. And that makes you wonder what else the media or other people overlook in the world.

Oh, and I like that Bamboo Diet photo myself. But that smoldering shot in the black dress would have placed Kat at #1 on search engines again this month. I guess when Kat mentioned that the smoldering look was taught at Boston Conservatory--she probably should have mentioned they also taught a course in "right shoulder strap just about ready to fall over."

Followed closely by left shoulder strap. Waitin' for the orchestra to strike up 'Let Me Entertain You.' Boy, if they ever do a remake of Gypsy and don't consider her, somebody's nuts. Except not for her first movie out of the gate. She'd need to be established first, because we're already hearing all kinds of stuff about how the music is being subordinated to the looks.

Plus if we believe what she said about what goes through her mind when they tell her to "turn it on for the camera," she's probably thinking something like "Okay, I have to pick up Nena from the vet, then I'm out of milk... maybe I should do that first so I don't have to leave her in the car...."
