Katharine McPhee Proof that second is sometimes better than first, this 2006 American Idol runner-up showed everyone (including granny heartthrob Taylor Hicks) by selling 116,000 records the week her album dropped. We’ve got a McPheever, and we don’t want no Robitussin.

I find it so funny how people are so easy to judge people they don't know, but think they have the right to scrutinize others because those "others" are celebrities. From Britney Spears to Katharine McPhee radio hosts and magazines will always make unfair statements and allegations. I am fans of both Britney and Katharine, two totally different artists, but I find that whether you are a icon or a promising newcomer from a hit reality show, the punches and jabs will come and never stop...but I have news for the haters, they won't stop either so you can take your opinions and give them to people that care, because the fans are like, SO over it.

That's one of the best pics from that famous Blender shoot. Knowing Maxim, though, they probably could have used the notorious chair shot--or could have used their brain and used that black dress shot Groucho found in the Bachelorette thread. After that, the insanity of choosing Lindsay Lohan as #1 would be realized by flooding their email servers with protests. Placing Kat #47 isn't bad at all. Maxim's sense of taste, though, is fairly shallow--and I'd hope all guys wouldn't agree with this list down to the number. Some of them are undeniable, but more than a few make you shout out some "oh come on!" statements. You'd hate to think that Kat will have to appear in even skimpier clothes somewhere along the line just to make it to the Top 10 on Maxim. Not that Kat needs Maxim for people to realize she's one of the most beautiful people on the planet. It seems you have to do something at least halfway shocking/provocative to get to the top on this list though. I know it's best not to run this in the ground, but I still worry a bit that these type of things about how she looks are being said too much this summer as Kat's music starts to be tucked under the rug more and more each week. Thank God for those new Rhapsody performances that came just at the right time so people can marvel at her musical mastery again for a while. She needs to balance her sex symbol image with the music--and it's turned into a lopsided teeter-totter the last couple of months. By the way, I hope Lindsay will see this and feel better about herself. I think she's scared people recently on how confused she's gotten on the meaning of her life...despite focus on how one looks probably not helping one's mental state when they're trying to find their way back to reality.

Those Rhapsody performances were the perfect blend of visual and aural. She looked stunning and sounded great. I can't help it, that dress reminds me of the cover of her mother's album. I hope Mom saw these. Proud wouldn't be a strong enough word.
