I heard Kat in an interview saying she was going to be  the lead role in the movie 'The Last Caller', but now she's doing 'The Storyteller'- which is amazing, i can't wait to see it. But does anyone know if 'The Last Caller' is still going ahead and if Kat will be a part of it?

That one has kind of drifted off the radar. It may have just been a project they were going ahead with if nothing else surfaced for awhile, and then guess what, here came Anna Farris and Happy Madison Productions. But since K. has ties to the producers and writer of TLC it could resurface later. This is all the internet movie database has to say about it so I guess it got shelved for the moment. Anybody here got IMDbPro? I don't.

The "Last Caller" is still in Developement.Hit & Run Productions are behind this,and they are out of NYC.

The "Story Teller"has an estimated budget of ___$3.5 Million Dollars,and shooting is planned for August-08
in Philly,distribution is scheduled for March,09.
Feaver Pitch Movies has a good track record with very good connections for distribution.

3.5Mill - that is a shoestring budget! Does not matter though - I have faith that it would be a showcase for our girl...

You've got that right.
The crew is scouting for shoot locations in the Philly subburbs at this time.This is a huge opportunity
for Katharine and with all of her KMF faithfull supporting her,she can't miss.$3.5 million dollars is a lot of
money for an Indie Film.The Investors are no dummies and are based in Philly.The whole city is behind this
project.

Good, and after she helps bring some publicity to their city, maybe they'll all remember that when her next album comes out. You scratcha my back, I scratcha you back.

And I keep hoping that these indie producers will realize when theyr'e looking for background music, something to play while the credits are rolling, etc., they've got someone on the payroll who could do that too, unless that would be considered overkill.

Actually folks 3.5 mil is a good budget for this type of film. Juno which has become the most successful Indie film in history supposedly cost 2.5 mil to make. So with the right script, promotion and distrobution this could be a very successful project.

Its flat and to be honest slowly dropping. A new Jazz station is playing it but it isn't monitored. There have been no new adds in 2 weeks so I'm beginning to think this is it for the song.

Well, what runs budgets up? Hiring Tom Cruise for $20 million up front, lots of special effects, and several months on exotic locations, maybe. When you're just doing a nice character-driven drama that relies on a good script and good acting (or comedy for that matter) you've done away with all that expensive stuff. But that doesn't mean it's a cheap movie. Just an inexpensive one to make. The Metro Detroit area is trying to lure in some movie makers and I hear we've had a few shooting around this area lately, although I can't remember particulars. God knows we need something with gas at $4/gallon because the car industry is dying a hard death.

I'm just hoping this little Indie does well with distribution and eventually is shown on IFC as it goes to dvd!
Lots of filming has been done here in rural NY.One episode of the Sopranos was "shot"(haha)at a nearby lake....thus far no bodies have washed up.
Years ago,an Adam Sandler movie was filmed just over the border in Connecticut....we visited the location and saw all the prop signs they used on the storefronts.

It might be a while before anything happen's with this.I think,before any investor comitts $$$$$$$$$
they might want to see Katharine on the silver screen first.

Katharine had a small roll in an Indie Film last year titled "Crazy"The Ex producer is Steve Vai,the famous
guitarist.Shawn Colvin has one of the lead roles.The film is being screened at several film festivals and has no
theatrical or dvd release dates announced.

Film festivals are good. Lots of producers and industry people see you even if the general public doesn't. Kind of like a random audition for anything these people might be doing in the future.

I think Crazy was actually done before Idol. I'm sure she's grown in confidence at least tons and tons since then.
