Katharine McPhee may have been disappointed to lose her record contract after the poor sales of her post-American Idol freshman album, but that hasn’t stopped her from taking on new projects. McPhee has, in fact, taken a break from the recording biz and moved on to the movies.

With production beginning in August, The Storyteller is a psychological drama about a writer, played by Wes Bentley, who falls apart after the death of his father. (At this point, the film begins to sound a little like Russell Crowe's A Beautiful Mind.) Portraying his assistant in the independent film, McPhee must decide if her boss is brilliant or just losing touch with reality. Hey, she worked with Simon. She can certainly handle a delusional mind!

Not too thrilled with this line.  And its not the first article suggesting that Kat is acting instead of recording another album. They need to get their facts straight.

Great line......at least having dealt with Simon,the other 2 stooges and Clive may have benefits for Kat's acting!

Just another case of people who don't hang around fan sites not having the latest information. That seems to be the best place to keep up with some people, at least it is with Katharine. Actually it was even when she was with RCA.

I didn't even notice the music vs movies, I was just really focused on the Simon comment... really funny and kicks Simon straight to the curb with her open toes

 Image tages ([IMG] [/IMG]) won't work here.

But there's any easy solution. When editing text, there's a tiny icon in the toolbar with a picture of the sun above a mountain. That's an "insert image" tool! Just click it and paste in your image link. You can even upload a modest sized image from your PC.

Well, it seems like things are starting to really happen now (that we can see, they've obviously been working on this for well...probably since the wedding she's been doing all the stuff we're starting to see now I'd guess).  So you've got the JAL commercial, the song from the Barbie movie, the album, THB, The Storyteller...I think you can call her singer/actress at this point...she's not one or the other.

I believe the Macy's 4th of July promo does indeed call her "recording artist/actress." And Jordin is a "pop sensation." Gives our girl more flexibility with genres all around, doesn't it?

According to our great friend and Kat fan, Ken, the director of the film was asked about Kat being on the soundtrack to the film and he answered "hopefully..."
