Hold on to your seats ladies and gentlemen,
the usually reliable DialIdol site has predicted a nite where nobody is obviously safe.
Well, almost nobody. Melinda and Lakisha appear to be safe. But that's it.

ALL the other girls are at risk.

AND ALL THE GUYS!  Every one of them!
Not even Blake can be considered statistically safe.

Guess we'll just have to wait 'till tonight...and bite our nails down Kat style!

Good News! Maybe things will get a little more fair and equitable and American Idol will once again be a singing competition.

All I can say is that if Sanjaya and Antonella do not go home tonight I may quit watching entirely!!! It's getting to be a sick joke really....

Something has to happen to pick up the interest of the audience .... and soon!

Obviously, the "girls" have it way over the guys, but I'm sorry to say that in my opinion, they all rather sound alike! Am I the only one to feel that way? I'm not saying that all those girls don't have some great talent, but other than Gina, they all seem to be doing the "power balads" (Obviously they can) and even she is belting out songs! Nothing like Season 5 when there was something for everyone. There are no interesting songs or performances (other than a few obvious ones)!

Maybe the screening system needs an over-haul??? Anyway, it's all rather disappointing and sad and I won't be lining up to buy tickets this year. Guess I was spoiled by my first full season of Idol last year when our Kat won our hearts! Heck, all of the Top 10 were interesting, fun and exciting and could perform!

What's really sad to me is that the Top 10 from last year didn't have exposure to some of the bigger names in the industry that are supposedly set to meet with the Top Ten for Season 6. Now, don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the guest artists last year (well, maybe there was and unbalance between the male and female guest artists..something I think I read Kat comment on).
It's just sad that the talent of the contestants this year aren't up to par with what we enjoyed last year.

I think the producers need to re-think the process they have in place for the early screening of the contestant to make sure that the Randy, Paula and Simon really have a great talent pool to choose from during auditions! Instead, they seem to have concentrated this year on thinking they could raise the ratings by concentrating more on the individuals that didn't make it....for obvious reasons!!!

Unfortunately, I think those two shall remain thanks to the Teeny-boppers and places like "Vote for the Worst."   If they make it, I predict they'll be #11 and #12 to go, and fortunately they won't be on the AI Summer Tour.

Moms4Kat - Give them some time, some of the girls are quite good - especially Melinda, that woman should already be recording.  I've fallen for Blake - quite a difference from Kat last year, but I love his uniqueness and he's got a smooth voice.  My early prediction is he'll take it all, probably a "Blake v. Melinda" Finale.   Also, if AI Season 5 was your first full season of watching, you will have high expectations because bar none, that season was the best yet.

Thanks for the input cobabycmw.....You are probably right about my "expectations"!! And, I also have to ask why was it that when Lakisha sang "I Have Nothing", she got such praise from the judges when Kat's just as great of a performance got "slammed" last year???

I know Lakisha has a wonderful talent and the obvious "big, ol' voice" (to quote Randy), but I really didn't enjoy her performance of that Whitney song as much as I did Katharine's last year. I can still remember the affect it had on the audience and I don't remember Lakisha's version being nearly as passionate. Maybe it's because I was involved with the Miss America Scholarship Pageant System for several years and thus have a different perspective on the styles of performances. Hmmmm, that didn't make much sense. What I think I was trying to say was that the performance that Katharine gave of I Have Nothing, was much more appealing visually and vocally to the masses (audiences), than I feel Lakisha's was.

Please don't think I'm being disrespectful of Lakisha! She is one wonderful singer and person! I actually loved her version of "I'm Not Going" much better than Jennifer Hudson's!!! And also, I love Melinda's performances....they are so genuine! Jordan Sparks is so endearing and such a talent for all of her 17 years!!

I agree with you on Blake Lewis. He is the most original and vocally appealing of all the male performers.
He definitely will be in the finals! It's going to be a real "nail bighter" tonight for the ladies. The two I feel are the ones (from a vocal standpoint) to go would be Antonella and Haley. The ladies definitely have a deeper talent pool than the guys.

I may not enter the forums very often, but I do check them everyday! And, I've never missed any of Kat's TV appearances. There simply isn't anyone to match her as far as I'm concerned.....I think it's because she shows more versatility in her performing. Even while Kat was "in the bubble" of AI last year she was still able to show different stylings other than just "power ballads" (which she showed then, and since, that she is quite capable of doing (i.e. the Crystal Charity Ball), no matter how many times the judges said that the song was "way too big for her"!).

Gosh, this is a great place to vent!!! LOL!

Thanks for making the title and also the first line of this post discreet. I would have hated to stumble onto results if I didn't want to.

I looked at DialIdol a couple times last year and found that it was like peeking at your Christmas presents!  I much prefer the anticipation of waiting until "after the break"! Thanks again for not being revealing!
