Round 2 - February 26, 2008
Screen Name: DJ CoBaby Two Males: Jason Yeager and Luke Menard Two Females: Brooke White and Alexandrea Lushington
Darn, this is a tough one . . . I think it's time for the senior boys to go buh-buh now, AI wants a young male to win - we don't need anymore Hicks!!
Hey, BigShady! I just noticed we both picked the same two girls to leave tonight. Rock on, neighbor!
Hi Guys,
I've just reviewed the top 20 idol interviews and this is what I gathered. Each contestant talked about either his/her gift/talent or another passion/ambition.
David Archuleta admires olympians. That shows his competitiveness and target for precision or accuracy.
Kristy Lee Cook shows a couple of her martial arts moves on Luke. She loves the outdoors and horseback riding, hopes to live in Wyoming or Montana. That shows her strength, competitiveness and future dreams.
Carly Smithson talks about Irish music as being vogue and has more heart than country music. She loves to cook and eat. That's her other creativity. She has the heartiest laughter.
Chikezie Eze loves soap operas. He's dramatic. He hopes to find his own voice.
Brooke White talks about her being a "right brain" person--artsy fartsy. She's more artistic than mathematical.
____________________________
David Cook calls himself a jack of all trades - an "entry level rennaisance man". He's all around.
Kady Malloy talks about the possibility of her singing in her mom's tummy. She knows herself and her gift. She could also burst a very hearty laughter!
Jason Yeager talks more about cleaning toilets and having a lucky underwear that he needs to recover.
Jason Castro talks about his life as all music - drums and guitar. Very shy.
Luke Menard talks about being free on the road with his motorcycle. This guy needs a break from something tight.
Amanda Overmyer talks about riding her bike and enjoying barbecues. She didn't believe pursuing a music career was in her, but she tried out for idol.
Alexandrea Lushington talks about growing up in a home where gospel music abounds.
Ramiele Malubay talks about her being "short", but revealed her passion for dancing that she needed to hide in the shower so no one would see her as she practiced.
Michael Johns talks about loving being a mascot and earning money. He hopes to hang out with Ramiele.
___________________________
David Hernandez talks about living out of his car to pursue his musical career but kept a job to get by.
Danny Noriega talks about his passion for singing - that began at age one. Tried out the first time at idol last year and didn't make it but believed he could do it again after a year practicing. He could mimick a horse neigh.
Asiah Epperson talks about her love for art and wished she could paint or draw. She keeps photos of family and friends for good luck charm. She doesn't like her hands. On the interview, she gets up and dances.
Syesha Mercado could impersonate a baby cry. She did, very well. She wanted to be able to sky dive or ran a marathon before she dies. Talented and competitive.
Robbie Carrico talks about his band Missing Picket - 80 originals/4 albums. His embarassing moment was when his pants split apart on the back showing his blue boxers while performing.
Alaina Whitaker talks about wanting to go sky diving for the "rush". She keeps a ring from a friend for good luck. She is amazed by gymnasts because she can't do a back flip. This girl has competitive instincts.
Urgent:
Amanda Overmyer (biker) and Luke Menard (biker) both come from the state of Indiana. Amy Davis is from Indiana also and she got the boot last week. Bad 2 weeks for the Hoosiers? How do you like having both contestants booted at the same time? I have doubts on this vote. I need to regroup my choices.
What do you guys think?
More demographics:
3 Floridians: Syesha, Ramiele, Robbie
3 Texans: Kady, Jason Castro, Jason Yeager
3 Californians: Carly, Danny, Chikezie
Hey neighbor! I didn't hesitate at all picking Kristy, but the second girl was hard. For the guys Luke was the no-brainer, but for the second one I'm going back and forth between Chikeze who I had originally picked, and Yaegar who I have changed my pick to because of rumblings I have heard about this weeks show.
I don't think the picks are hard because the talent is so deep. I actually think it's pretty mediocre. I've seen nothing to get excited about up to this point, but I'm hopeful it'll get better. It seems like on all previous seasons there were always a couple really good performances every night, but so far this year I haven't seen that.
If the question hasn't been answered yet....Yes, feel free to post your picks for this week before Co's deadline...which is about 20 minutes from now I think. So I better decide on some people!
Player 7 - Screen Name: sjwolves Two Males: Luke Menard & Jason Yeager Two Females: Kristy Lee Cook & Alexandrea Lushington
The guys are easy for me. I thought those two were going last week, so I’ll stick with them. The girls…wow, I don’t know. I think Alaina, Asia’h, Brooke, Carly, Ramiele and Syesha are safe for sure. So that leaves me with Amanda, Alexandrea, Kady and Kristy Lee to choose from. I think Kady has a good following that’ll get her to next week and possibly beyond if she shows what I think she’s capable of.
So against my personal preference, I think Amanda survives because she probably appeals to a certain crowd more than my two elimination picks do. Sorry Mattsie, goodbye Kristy Lee. And also bye, bye Alexandrea.
Someone or some people will get it right. What about Kristy, Joe, you think she's as bad as someone who's going home?
Wow, I made my picks without looking at what others went with. I'm surprised at the Asia'h picks. A little surprised by the Brooke ones, too. I really think it'll be some combination of Amanda, Alexandrea and Kristy Lee.
For the guys, I don't know...it could be any of Chikezie, Danny, David H, Jason Y or Luke, I think. I think Danny is probably safe though and David H probably is too. So that leaves me with three on that side: Chikezie, Jason Y & Luke. I have a feeling I should have gone with Chikezie instead of Jason Y but...we'll see.
Someone or some people will get it right. Does someone really think Kristy is just as bad as Alexandrea? What do I know, this is the erratic american idol. Trust me, I won't be sore, only one will stand in the end. I lied, I will be sore if Kristy goes home tonight.
Not at all, Mattsie. I would much prefer it if Kristy Lee stays around over Amanda & Alexandrea for sure. But I try to eliminate my personal preferences and try to read the minds of America when it comes to this pool. It worked OK last year...
Oh, I noticed a couple of new names to the pool this week. Welcome! And welcome back to the couple of returnees that are joining a week late (Collette! Bad girl!)
I changed from Chikezie to Yeager but I stayed with Menard. Then I changed from Overmyer to White and stayed with Lushington. Maybe I should have stayed put? Nah.
V, because I know you so well and you picked Jason Yeager, last week, I put down Jason Yeager as your selection . . . please confirm.

Oops, did I miss that there are two Jasons? Yes, 'Yeager' is right. By the way, nice going on honoring Heath in your avi.
I'm so sad. Last night while I was in class the 'record' got turned off for American Idol. I missed the boys! V
Round 2 - February 26, 2008 Screen Name: Bigshady Two Males: Jason Yaeger, Luke Menard Two Females: Kristy Lee Cook, Asia'h Epperson
After seeing the performances the only change I would make is Asia'h for Amanda Overmyer. Here's a quick impromptu review...
Carly - very good once again, one of the few I really look forward to seeing each week Syesha - best I've seen from her, showed she could do more than belt Brook - still not a big fan and likely never will be, but this was her best showing so far Alaina - after suprising last week, this week was a bit of a let down Ramiele - still waiting to see what she could do with a good song Alex - snooze fest Asia'h - I just don't care for her voice, at all Kady - she cannot handle the pressure, plain and simple Kristy - 500% better than last week, still not even close Amanda - what can I say, she butchered one of my favorite songs, and don't get me started on the hair
