Well, I'm not sure how many of us would have said Alaina and/or Robbie even picking after the performances. I know I wouldn't have. Actually, all I would have changed would have been replacing Kristy Lee with Amanda so...I did not see Alaina going home at all.
So with the news that it indeed was Alaina, Robbie, Jason Y and Alexandrea...here's your new standings. We have a solo leader now! Congrats Mattsie.
Joe, funny that I almost put Robbie Carrico instead of Luke Menard because of his comment: "They better get used to it". Did you see him say that to Ryan?t He was referring to his style of rock. That was nasty to say. RC was my bottom 4.
Alaina was my bottom 4 too but I remained with my silly choices. I used to sing Hopelessly Devoted to You back in the days and I'm so familiar with that song. But when Alaina sang it, I thought right away she was going home with either Asia, Alex or Amanda. It's true. So, if I went with my hunches on these 2, I would have gotten all 4. Thanks for the compliment on the ranking. You'd think I'm so into it, huh?
I really hope my blonde girls make it to top 12. No matter what ppl say about a boy winning this year, I'm for a girl. I've turned off any form of serious perspectives on this, trust me, it will be fun.
Yep! Amanda must go! I'll be very happy if Amanda, Danny & Luke go next week. The second girl is a tough one for me because I like the rest of them.
I had Alaina in my bottom four but I still didn't think she was going home. I was really confident it was going to be Alex & Amanda but then they were sitting together in the top row and I knew something was wrong with my thoughts at that point.
I think it'll be really interesting to see who survives on the girls' side next week. We've still got a few weak links on the boys' side so that's not quite as interesting. That second girl is going to be a tough choice...I know who I'm picking for next week already but I don't feel that confident about it (the second girl).
I wonder if there will be a Daughtry this year who will be removed quite early and will be groomed to prepare for his/her repertoire earlier than the winner. Curious.
Hmm...same here...good question! Come to think of it, it might be DCook, but I don't see him nowhere near Chris' caliber.
I'll go first this week.

We said Goodbye on March 6 to:
Asia'h Epperson
Kady Malloy
Luke Menard
Danny Noriega
Having watched AI since the first season, this is what I think of the 3 judges' roles:
THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE CALLED "THE DECIDERS"
Randy's act is to criticize the vocal and declare if it's recordable or good for the tour.
Paula's act is to feel the character of the contestant and be positive about it
Simon's act is to choose who's got the "STAR" personality for an attractive sell.
Sometimes, they go overboard and get out of their roles or overlap. That's when we get thrown off with our choices for the boot.
Randy, Paula, and Simon are unanimously impressed with all of Kady's talents from the very beginning which they will make available to the public for an interesting conversation and publicity. So, in the top 16 elimination, Kady will be judged as a talented singer with star quality, and they will have proved that talents could be honed and polished in the AI process proving that AI is a credible form of talent search. Kristy Lee will have to be on the top 12 and top 10 as well. She personifies the country genre - a very large fanbase. To exclude both Kristy Lee and Kady Malloy from the tour would create such an uproar, and AI doesn't need that. If Carly Smithson and Michael Johns would advance to top 12/10, and Kristy Lee would not, the critics of Carly and Michael would come around knocking down AI to no end and this could doom AI7 to be the most unpopular year yet. For if so, that would essentially contradict AI7 top 24 introduction as "The most talented top 24 ever!!" But AI needs to make sense of what they did this year. Therefore, Carly, Michael, Archuleta, and Kristy would be the core integral parts of AI7 tour group. These 4 are secured to my eyes. The rest of the group - the 6 of them - 3 boys and 3 girls - that we will have to choose very carefully, making sure no Jennifer Hudsons goes home. Where you and I stand on this is really a matter of personal preference or perhaps to a few, a personal vendetta. But, it makes perfect sense if we know what we're doing and doing it right. How else? I'm merely channeling my opinion.
My own deliberations of the last 4 to go home:
Where there is no unanimous admiration or liking within the panel, someone will be eliminated.
Amanda Overmyer is not the rocker they are looking for. Carly defined that.
Asia'h Epperson is not the diva they like to hear singing power ballads. Kady's voice is pretty versatile and powerful. During the top 20 performances, Simon called Asiah a "not great singer". That was the dooming statement there. During season 5, Simon told Kat that she is "not Whitney Houston" when Kat sang IHN and that was the top 7 (?) performance. There is a clear difference there. Kat went on to the finals but that was the baggage that she had to carry. Hicks had more labels that Simon gave him but he was to them the sound of a new Ray Charles-Bruce Springsteen hybrid with Elvis' personality, and the rest is history.
Syesha and Brooke can be candidates for the boot but they will be good for the tour. Amanda's presence may be interestingly entertaining because of her outrageous hairstyles and outfits, and Brooke will cater to the simple, innocent, and pure soul in the crowd of concert goers. Syesha's vocals are good for more upbeat songs using her high register but she sounds less powerful on the lower notes - not too keen for a prospecting pop-balladeer, but can really pack a lot of soul to some favorite songs, though.
Luke Menard is not a soloist but an acapella group member and is alone in his theatrics. Danny's personality will exceed Luke's in both the likeability factor and entertaining value. Danny's choice of a Karen Carpenter song showcased himself as a viable soloist with a recordable sound, and I honestly believe that he could be an interesting character on the tour. Therefore, I'm rewarding him to be on the top 12 (although he could be eliminated now).
Jason Castro is an instrumentalist who could sound good but is not comfortable with himself on stage - he never tried to work the audience - kind of limited in the singing department. David Cook is a better singer - and he could belt- and, besides, he is a (lefty) guitarist. He just needs to show more charisma but has actually attempted to work the audience. Chikezie has a beautiful voice and I'm putting him on the top 12, definitely. He has a sizeable fanbase that could connect with his music.
So, now, you know my top 12.
