Rachel Bilson new Wonder Woman in comic book movie written September 13, 2006

'The O.C.' star Rachel Bilson is reportedly set to play Wonder Woman in the new comic book movie.

The brunette actress - best known for playing ditzy Summer Roberts in the hit teen series - will don the famous starred hot pants and wield her gold whip in the film.

Bilson has already proved her suitability for the iconic part, after she donned a Wonder Woman outfit for a sexy seduction scene in 'The O.C.'.

A host of Hollywood stars had been tipped for the role, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cameron Diaz and 'Van Helsing' actress Kate Beckinsale, who turned down the part saying she "did not want to embarrass her daughter" by wearing the revealing outfit.  

The character was made famous by Lynda Carter in the classic 70s TV series. Producers Warner Bros. have so far refused to confirm reports Bilson has landed the role. http://www.eog.com/news/entertainment-news.aspx?id=6572

again, Pilaf.....please stop pandering rumors as fact. the article even says that there's no confirmation from the studio. Until there's a press release of some sort for ANY of the rumored actresses (Kat included), we don't really know anything. I do like Rachel though and I think it's so cute that she showed up to support Kat, especially since I don't get the impression that they were really that close, just "friendly."

I don't have my heart set on Kat as Wonder Woman, though I do hope that she lands some sort of film role...preferably in Spielberg's project.

I'd have to agree 100% with Britt.  It gets tiring to see posts making statements as though they are facts, only to discover they are still unconfirmed rumors. 

Edit:  For the record, I never said that there was anything wrong with posting the article.  Although I didn't specify in my original post, I was referring to the thread title.  I believe Britt was as well.

The title of the post may be a little misleading because "reportedly" wasn't used but there's nothing wrong with posting that article. There's always time between developments and when they are officially announced. Media reports on scoops just live in between the time span of those events. And we know until it's official, everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. I still appreciate hearing something to get a better idea of where things may stand.

Rachel's been at the Toronto film festival this past week, attending parties (talking), doing media, etc etc. It's possible if it's true, it came out there.

Hmm, (if this part is true) I guess she won't be letting her daughter watch Underworld 2.

Also, if that's a true quote, then Kate just referred to her own daughter as "her" daughter .  If accurately quoted, it would have read "my daughter," as she is speaking about her own daughter.

If it was a publicist or someone speaking on Beckinsale's behalf, it still would not have read that way if accurately written.  It said "...Kate Beckinsale, who turned down the part saying she 'did not want to embarrass her daughter' by wearing the revealing outfit."
