Is fame beginning to get to Taylor Hicks? The seemingly sweet and down to earth performer who swooned the hearts of America's Idol worshippers revealed a bit of a nasty egotistical side when he wasn't immediately seated at Seattle's Union Bay Café. Is Mr. Hicks' head getting a little too big for his hat? With a grain of salt I take the word of The National Inquirer which reports that Taylor and a trio of friends "swaggered" into the café. As one might expect, the person seating customers informed them that they would be seated in a moment. Nothing strange there, right? Apparently Taylor doesn't have a moment to wait for things like tables and he "howled" at the manager,"Don't you know who I am?... I'm the'American Idol!'" As he stormed out he declared that he doesn't have to wait for a table anywhere. Welcome to fame, Mr. Hicks. Your fans may swear by your southern charm and humble style, but even the most modest of folks can have their grey pated heads turned by fame and half-million dollar book deals. Here's hoping that's not the direction his attitude is turning. What's that saying about pride coming before a fall?
