keefir1 Forgot to expand on the fact that David beat out CD on arrangeing her exposure.This grand oppening was in CT MGM _Foxwoods Resort-Saturday Night.David has his own private jet. Last November he flew Charice and her mom and attorneyto watch Celine's last performance,and met her.The rest is history.Star record's and Entertainment signed her.

Very fortunate for Charice that David Foster has added her to his stable! The young girl has a chance now of being exposed to to other excellent performers and coached by the best. Also, David seems to know the delicate task of bringing the best out of the youngsters at a pace that is much more appropriate than CD and his $$$ hungry staff.
I don't think that Simon was interested in her because they have Leona but, it could also be because he now understands just a little bit, how patience and timing with a young performer is critical. After all, (I don't remember the young girl's name, but she was the winner of the first season of America's Got Talent), he didn't have much noticeable success with his first attempt at promoting a young performer. I think she made one CD but all I remember is seeing Simon helping her to hold the check for $1,000,000!! There's been nothing really big about her since. Please I could be wrong, so if she does have some fans around here, you are more than welcome to let me know if I need be corrected!
Again, Charice is so fortunate to now have the chance to be around performers with talent and class and I bet that Katharine will love the chance to be somewhat of a "mentor".....if given the opportunity!
David is very, very selective. Charice's Mom will have to learn to graciously give up some of her vocal coaching control in order for Charice to be properly groomed for what could be a very great career! It's so hard to relinquish that type of control and so, I just hope that for both Charice and her mother's sake, she can do it! She'll be having to cut those apron strings earlier than she expected, I'm sure. And as parents who have already gone through the "empty nest" syndrome can attest, it's such a huge change after a lifetime of knowing every little nuance about your child and what's going on his/her life. I wish everyone involved much success and a smooth ride to their goals!
I will never again be interested in any new talent the way I've been with Katharine. I don't mean to be cold and unfeeling, but Katharine is a "once in a lifetime" for me. There will be no other!

Charice Pempengco, a 15 yrs old sensation was part of David Foster's line up of stars at the grand opening of the MGM Grand Casino-Hotel this weekend. She received a standing ovation amongst the stars, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban and John Mayer. David Foster's newest baby will also be appearing with Katharine McPhee at the David Foster Tribute Concert this Friday, May 23rd. She is awesome. Check out Charice singing on Oprah's show:
Okay, now Foster's calling HER "a force to be reckoned with" ? Where have we heard this before? The kid does have a phenomenal voice, but some of the impact will be lessened when she grows up and becomes a whole human being with a little less cute factor. Or maybe she'll stay tiny and look eleven forever. I know, I get grumpy because I'd rather see Katharine be the only girl amidst a lineup of Grobans and Bocellis.
This also makes me wonder why there seems to be so many performers whose speaking and singing voices seem to come out of totally different places. Jim Nabors almost doesn't count because his Gomer voice was part of the act but Paris "Minnie Mouse" Bennett's wasn't.
