Please - K made it due to her own stage presence. If the above is true, what about the female voters for Katharine? 'Many' believe..does that mean 100 or a million? Also, if the above were true (cleavage remark) then Haley would have been in the finals in season 6.
Syesha is good, but made it to the top three recently because of other contestants having bad weeks. There will likely not be a SOTR moment from Syesha this week, and she was in the bottom two much more often.
I guess that the fans of K are used to these kind of remarks by now, though they are getting old.
and big deal, is cleavage a bad thing? well then we must add that to Katharine's many assets, but she was runner-up because of TALENT, not to mention she could belt the hell out of a song, and looks were a bonus, stage presence she definitely had and she worked the camera like a professional, so what the heck is wrong with that? that my friends is called having it all and when you got it, use it and Katharine had (has) it.
Syesha is talented, but she is no Katharine McPhee, sorry. still would like to see her pull a Katharine and become runner-up.

Still, I'm seriously surprised to see such nonsense in print, since it's a very uninformed and ignorant thing to say. Katharine has COMMANDING stage presence, she generally kept her sexuality "under wraps" during the competition, and whether or not you appreciate her vocal talents, there's no denying her many definitive AI performances.BUT because she is exceedingly beautiful her immense talent takes the back seat to many, and will never be acknowledged by some. Such is human nature.
Another point. "cleavage" has never, and will never get an AI contestant to the finals for one simple reason: most guys are not driven to vote their fingers raw for 2-4 hours a night by a girl no matter how she looks. No, Kat didn't make it to the Kodak based on the relatively small male vote, she was carried by a legion of tween girls, simply because she was sweet, wholesome, pretty, and had a lovely voice.
I have the "Google Alert" thing set up to notify me about anything Katharine. There have been a ton of "comparison and disparaging articles" all week. I have chosen to ignore them all. I wasn't a member of this site when all the "fireworks" were going off earlier in Katharine's AI career. For my own sake, it's probably good that I wasn't involved! I probably would have had a stroke or at least burst a blood vessel!!!
I've not been real impressed by the articles in the "National Ledger" and similar "rags". However, these days, the writers are probably aching to write about anything other than the upcoming election, gas prices, and the financial woes of our economy! It's easier to be negative today than positive, so the writers vent by dissing someone without even checking facts and make some pretty ridiculous remarks and comparisons. Hey it works for them, doesn't it. I mean, we're up in arms over their articles, right?!! They got our attention so that means their editors may keep them around for another week or so! LOL!!
So many (even Kathie Lee on the Today Show) have counted Katharine McPhee as a "lost cause" and in the "where are they now" category. When my blood pressure starts to rise, I just sit down at my trusty keyboard and try to illuminate the "unknowing and for that matter, uncaring" reporters on just how far Katharine has "traveled" since her AI days!
I have a feeling that Katharine deals better with these articles (if she even reads them) than her fans do! She's busy moving on and up-wards and has no earthly time to spend worrying about what a handful of "non-talented" (well, mostly untalented....must be fair) reporters say just to fulfill their quota of articles for the week and hopefully appear useful enough to be kept on their jobs! We must keep in mind that "negative" seems to sell (most unfortunate) more than the "positive". Heck these days, people shell out big $$$ to go see "movies" that most would find repulsive, sickening, and totally demoralizing rather than to spend the same amount of $$$ to see entertainment that would lift their spirits!

No matter what anyone says or thinks, Kat's life has changed immeasurably by her success, and she is living her dream. I laugh because I know those that critcize would give anything to be in Kat's shoes.

I guess as time goes by, we can expect to read forgotten or revisionist versions of history. I didn't realize when Kat was giving some of the all-time great performances of Over the Rainbow and Someone to Watch Over Me that people were just staring at her chest...
