I'll just let y'all check this one out for yourselves. I'm not good at spotting hoaxes but this looks legit. (I've fallen for every joke post at this site for the past year.)

"People Get Ready May-21-2007 People Get Ready What's up everyone! It has been an amazing year for Idol! We are crowning our Idol this week and I have a feeling the ladies will be happy. All the past Idols will be in the house including Kelly, Carrie, Elliot, Taylor and a huge special guest! Vote, watch and show Idol some love this week! After Idol is over I'm back working on my new album! So far I've recorded tracks with Jason Mraz, Elliot Yamin, Katherine McPhee, Brian Mckinight, Travis Tritt, Rich from Big and Rich and many more! The Dawg has been busy but I can't wait for you to hear all this new music! That's it for now...Holla, Randy. Posted by Randy Jackson at 1:00 AM"
From Randy's blog, evidently. Looks like this one's been in the can for a long time now... Another post in this thread suggested that the title was "Real Love."
My two favorites from season 5. It would be fun seeing them do this one live... except they'd have to stand Elliott on a box because you know K. is going to have on 4" heels. Okay, sorry, no rotten tomatoes, I even voted for Elliott once or twice. I'd slip him a couple of votes and then spend the rest of the time voting for Katharine. Well, who knew he was going to get into the top 3? Some really good singers got voted off early.
Actually, the arrangement that Kat did on idol was a combination of Jane's version along with Eva Cassidy's. I still call Kat's version as one of the best ....ever.
YAY! I am SOOOO excited!!!! I have a major crush on Elliott and I just love him And OF COURSE I'm mad about Kat like we all are so...well...THIS IS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE! I can't wait to here more!!!! I also read Jan 29, 2008 for the release date of the album. I also just heard "If Not For Love" could be the possible title of the song, written by Jolie Kim Cantade and performed by KATHARINE MCPHEE AND ELLIOTT YAMIN! If this is the writer and the song it will probably be a jazzy, R&B sorta song
I would agree with you on that, GB3535. I think that Kat's version of OTR, as sung on Idol & on the single that was released, IS the best rendition of OTR that I've ever heard.
Still makes me stop & listen to it even today, whenever I happen to get the urge to pop it in my CD player & give it a spin! Love it, Love it, Love it!!
The list of songs at ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) has at least 5 variations of Kat's name, and "Katherine McPhee" pulls up some interesting entries. "If Not for Love" appears to be the collaboration. Oddly enough, 2 standards are listed as well.
KATHERINE MCPHEE 1. BEWITCHED BOTHERED AND BEDWILDERED (Title Code: 321966398) 2. COULDN'T SLEEP (Title Code: 332272536) 3. IF NOT FOR LOVE (Title Code: 392183092) 4. THAT'S ALL (Title Code: 503081990)
I have a hard time imaging IKWBL performed any other way from the original, except maybe as a rap, which is why I threw that out earlier. I'm not sure Katharine could make that song "her own."
BTW, here's the Jane Monheit version of OTR for those unfamiliar with it/her.
Hmmm, I think I'd go with ASCAP on this one. McFoster & his wife wrote a song called "If Not for Love," which was the ending song of a 1991 movie and was included on smooth jazz artist Carl Anderson's album in 1992. I'm not familiar with either recording, but it makes sense to me.

Warren sings the end-title song, "If Not For Love", for the movie "One Good Cop". The movie features a score by David Foster.
Carl Anderson:
Lyrics to "If Not for Love": http://www.fozfan.com/index.php?pid=310
EDIT: Maybe Kat has 3 songs on the Dawg's new album. In those ASCAP listings, Elliott isn't involved in "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" or "That's All", so he wouldn't be mentioning them in his chat. ("Couldn't Sleep" is probably a duplicate citation of BBaB.)
EDIT #2: A 30-second sample of the Anderson version can be found at the following page. It's definitely up Elliott's alley. http://www.fye.com/Fantasy-Hotel-Front-Page_stcVVproductId6020656VVcatId455366VVviewprod.htm
