Hi,

My name is Taylor, Tay for short and I am 15 years old, going on like 8..lmao.. A few of my friends here and on the American Idol message boards wanted me to post my story here for all of you to read. First I will tell you a little bit about myself. My favorite color is green. The biggest highlight in my life thus far, was metting Katharine McPhee and the other Idols from this season. In which, Peisha McPhee made all possible. My heros are Kat and Kelly Clarkson. I am anxiously awaiting Katharine's cd, aren't we all??  and Kelly's new cd.  My story........For about the past two years, I have been struggling with bulimia. I came out with after  Katharine did. In the process of getting help, I found out that I have heart problems. I had open heart surgery twice in the past month and apparently my problems are not fixable. My left ventrilicle is extremely damaged, leaving me with very little heart fucntion. Scar tissue has also formed around the heart, and I also suffer from irregular heartbeat. I will be moving very shortly to the RMH, hopefully to find a new heart VERY soon. My doctor told me about two weeks ago that I probably only have about two months left to live, thankfully doctors are not always right. can take a long time to find a childs heart and I am not so sure how much longer I can hold on. Hopefully the right heart will come at the right time.  Roght now, I am just trying to stay as positive as I can, although it is VERY hard, and be normal. I go to school just like a normla kid, when I leave for the RMH I will go to school there. I also have ALOT of support. And many here have already told me  they are praying. That makes me so happy. I appreciate it SO much. Thanks for reading. I am new to these boards and I wasn't eactly sure where to put this so... please forgive me if its the wrong place. ~ Tay ~

You sound so brave... I heard a bit about you on the McPhan of the Week thread and think I remember you posting a lot on the AI boards. Anyway, you seem like an amazing person and definitely will continue to be in my thoughts.

Wow, I don't know how you can stay that calm. I agree with Kenneth, you sound very, very strong. I sincerely hope that you find a new heart very soon. I'm 13, so we are fairly close in age, if you ever feel like talking to someone, I'm on a lot. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts as well. I hope everything turns out for you.

  You don't know how proud I am of you at this moment. Do you remember when you first told us? Now look, look at how far you've come. I'm praying for you Tay, you know that already though.  Your courage and bravery is almost unbelievable.

  Just remember Tay, we're here for you, no matter what may happen.  Don't be afraid to say anything to us.. okay?

  Take care of yourself Tay! I'm 110% positive that you WILL get a heart. The way I see it, God's given you a challenge, a tough challenge; but, you know what? He gives people challenges equal to their capabilities.

You're a wonderful person Tay....

Don't forget, we're all human.. give what you want to receive... a smile, a thought, a tear, joy, pain, whatever it be.. you give it, you receive it.

Tay, I am so proud of you!  When you first told us about this I didn't even believe it because you seemed so strong.  You don't wallow in self pity or mope around and that type of attitude is exactly what's going to get you through this.  I know I've told you this before, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Wow, Taylor. Not only is yours a great story, but you are quite obviously a great kid. It's great that someone like Kat can bring us together. Good luck in all you do, most especially in finding that new heart. The one you've got now may have trouble physically, but spiritually it's very strong. I'm glad to see it's carrying you through. Do keep us posted.

Tay is a very  SWEET and LOVING, KIND HEARTED girl. She will make it through this, I have McPhaith in her. I have known her for about 2 months now, and we have really gotten to know each other. I LOVE HER SO MUCH! Soon you all will too.

Thank you for sharing your story, Tay.  A lot of us here didn't know anything about you other than what Yuvie shared, so I'm glad you took his advice and posted here.  You now have even more people rooting for you and sending you good thoughts  We're all excitedly awaiting Kat's CD too.  I know her music will give you even more strength.  Hang in there just like you have been, and please continue to post often

What a courageous story and testament to how you can view life differently...even if it may be threatened. Good to see you here, Tay. While I'm a veteran from the 'AI' board during the actual 'AI' run, I've been posting primarily here since July, so I don't think I recognize you. Though maybe you were around then and we never managed to communicate. Nevertheless, we heard about your search for a new heart here this last week. It's good to see you stop by and introduce yourself here so we can see the reality of how you approach life.

I'm really floored at seeing how you're able to stay in such a good frame of mind despite the situation. It's a real inspiration for any of us should one of us ever have to face a major health crisis like that. And it can happen to anybody. But I'm glad you're forwarding more talk about bulimia after Kat already made it so high profile. Before that, it was off the radar in the media for a lot of years--even though it's been around for years and years with people suffering. Katharine made all of us think about it much more. It even got into my mind and reminded me of my eating problems (not eating enough) when younger. It wasn't diagnosed as a true eating disorder, but many more people go through variations on that problem than some think.  I'm glad you're here now to remind people of the realities behind it.

It's haunting to hear what it did to your health. Remember, though, that faith and positive thinking will help you get through this. I can tell you have all this more than the average person does. Many people I know would truly fold emotionally if they were in your shoes. So be proud of yourself for keeping your chin up. Organ donors are becoming quite commonplace now--and many who need a transplant get one more often now than it used to be.

Keep the faith--and we'll be pulling for you. Also, come by and post when you can. I'll be gone from here for about a week starting tomorrow...so excuse my sudden departure.

Congratulations on winning Phan of the Week too. While those things are becoming as close as Presidential elections lately...I'm glad you pulled out in front to win.
